Only 940 Saturdays...

Image
That's right, you only have Nine hundred and forty Saturdays from the day your child is born until they are 18.  Of those 940 Saturdays, 260 of them are already gone by the time your child is 5 years old.  Rather sobering fact if you ask me... As a father of 2 daughters, that means I only have 341 left with my 11 year old and 680 left with my 5 year old. This fall, we have begun to focus more on experiences with our daughters.  In the last month, we have visited a major city each weekend; New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington D.C.  During these trips, we would try to tie in an education aspect to the weekend.  Two of those weekends were tied to Maker Faire attendance which focus on STEM and STEAM education. I want to show my girls that there is much more to this world than iPads, iPhones, YouTube and Roblox.   Whether that means exploring the back country in a national forest or finding that great burger joint in the Upper Wes...

Has it really been 7 years?

So, the last time there has been a post here was WAY back in 2010 when we returned from our epic 3-week bender of a road trip with our (at the time), 4 year old daughter.  Well a lot has certainly changed since then!  The 4 year old is now 11! And... we have daughter #2 which is already 5! Reviewing what we have entered here so long ago, makes one reflect on how much life can really change in a decade.  Family, work, interests and more.  You can't look at today and think your life will be same down the road.  Enjoy today and embrace the idea of constant change!  I would have never thought I would be the proud father of 2 amazing girls!! As a little bit of a rewind, here is a video what we did a short time ago where we visited the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at the Dulles airport as a family of 4!  Enjoy!
